ReplyDeleteAnd also, I may want to point out some stuff I've came across. In Part 3: Tragedy, it's set in a completely new building. I always run from the janitor because he always seems to find me. Well, I end up hiding UNDER the stairs on the ground floor. The janitor always chases me and just points his flashlight at me while I'm under the staircase. There would be quite a few times I'd run out and go back under, and then the janitor would follow me. Then suddenly, he disappears? I'm not sure if this is something you could fix. It's a way to get rid of the janitor. xD Actually, I don't want to fix it that much, but I just wanted to mention it. ^__^
And that ceiling ghost ALWAYS flings me out of the classroom when I go into the 2nd floor classroom! It's so irritating every time I try to continue the game...

DeleteIf you're worried, I recommend making a spare copy of your WhiteDay folder before updating. In-case something does go wrong. :)

ReplyDeleteI was hiding from the janitor, and I hid under the staircase in the new building. There are these boxes underneath the staircase that I could roughly describe as lockers? And there are a total of 6 compartments of it that can open, yet it's empty. What is the significance of it? Please tell me if you know. ^__^
There isn't any point to those lockers as far as I know... I noticed them too. I will reply to this again if I find anything out though! :)

DeleteDownloaded and easily installed the game and it seems to work flawlessly so far! I was pleasantly surprised to see just how "improved" this version is, especially the translation and for a decade-old game I think it looks pretty damn good, even at my native resolution of 2560x1440. I'm so pumped to get started on this tonight when it gets dark.

ReplyDeleteHi there, so I haven't played this game in a couple of months, and decided to yesterday. But when I updated to v13.1 my game seems to have stopped working - when I click Launch after 'Start WhiteDay' I get a 'Whiteday.exe has stopped working error'. Also, I'm wary of reinstalling as I'm not sure where my save file is located, and how to recover it after reinstalling (I don't have the best IT skills :P). I hope you can help me with this problem, and keep up the good work! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it was with the big jump in updates, my WhiteDay folder got all jumbled with different files. Also, my save file seemed to have gotten lost (I have no idea how) and I had to do a full pc scan to find it.

Hi, I have been playing this game for a month and i encountered an error, at new building after we got the paper thing from top of bookcase, there is a cut-scene, but nothing appeared and instead, the program stop working and closed, what should I do?
ReplyDeleteI've seen this before. There is meant to be two cutscenes, but theg overlap if you do it too quick.
DeleteMake sure you turn on the big fan and wait until the paper falls to the ground. Then pick up the paper. Or walk to where the paper is, watch the cutscene, when it's finished turn on the fan, watch the cutscene, then pick up the paper.

DeleteIf I took White Day's Chapter 2, and compared it to Fatal Frame 2, I'd say White Day was much scarier for me. No question :)
If you're looking for a scare, like I was, be sure to play in "headphones-inthedark-alone" mode!

I'm so lucky ^^ I use WXP and it worked like a charm on the first attempt. Only Device Settings(on the launcher) won't open(opened just once but after that some weird korean message shows up) but I'm playing the game just fine :)

I just wish it wouldn't crash so much >_< Every-time I die and every 20 or so minutes it seems to crash, so I have to try and save whenever I can. This pretty much makes the highest difficulty immposible to finish since you can't save. Where Korean computers in the early 2000s that complicated? O_O

Hard mode has a very scarce amount of pens and save points, but they're there. Also, which second floor? The second floor of Chapter 1, Chapter 2 or Chapter 3?

I see, but there seemed to be no save point whatsoever in Chapter 1 (or the first Main area)... also as I've said, when the clock stroke twelve, the game ended and said 'game over' - in hard mode!
DeleteAnd So-young got stuck in Chapter 1 as well.. I was trying get her to move in hard mode when it turned twelve and the game ended :(
She isn't stuck, if you're being chased by the Janitor she won't move until you've lost him. I'm not sure what's going on with Hard mode = Real mode...

I managed to open the game running whiteday.exe in korean locale it runs fine, tried hard mode, Kali said, there are no savepoints in neither first nor the second main hall, i got the glove from the science room but it doesn't seem to work. I keep hitting janitor but it has no effect, so yeah, i died trying there :P (it wasnt 12:00 yet when i died)

DeleteIf the file is not called "AppLoc.exe", or the path to the file is different, I'll quickly make a new "WhiteDay - Start.exe" for your system :)
Confirmed, it is there and with the same name. I figured that the glove goes to janitors anus not his nipples afterwards. I got the game working so you don't have to make another executable for me, thanks though :3. But the problem with hard mode =Real mode still persists, though i haven't been able to confirm if it ends at 00:00.

Really great work! I'm in the 3.Act so i have some more job to do. But I want to thanks your work. This game is needed every horror game fan I think. Btw the janitor is REALLY ANOYING! XD Mostly when every sec he come back. We cant freeze him? :P The only problem I think is sometimes he come back really often and i cant enjoy some of the rooms. Like the music room in the 2.Act o_O He came back in 3 mins every time. I cant just search the room normaly. Btw thanks man for your work you are awsome. ^^

Deletei couldnt find anything in the change log about this but it looks like you removed the hard and real mode unlocked at first. I cant see them plus in the first main building im missing texts on those small paintings outside classes. Did i do something wrong? plus yea this did require korean locale to run, i deleted my hfapploc before hand so i just changed my system locale this time.

DeleteI can't solve the GYM puzzle. I think there is a bug. Because I tried every combinations. There are four baskets and four arrows. Also there are different balls in the baskets. I tried combination but it didn't work. Please help
ReplyDeleteThe trick is, that the directions of the safe are kind of reversed. Turning "left" actually turns the handle to the right.
DeleteAnd, of course, you have to look for the rest of the balls in the class rooms, in order to come up with the correct numbers.

ReplyDeleteI haven't either - No one has. I was beginning to think hard mode was meant to have incredible scarce saves and was meant to end like real mode at midnight. Now I'm sure of it. It's a shame...
DeleteNormal is practically the same as Hard anyway. The only difference is that hard has very very scarce marker pens, and ends at midnight like Real mode.
Sorry about that, but it'll have to be Normal unless you wanna go hardcore :/
dang it, damn I thought hard mode was scarier too, I guess the ever impending doom of 12 is scary haha, yeah cause hard mode mentions there are saves but I haven't seen any. Well I'll be hopefully uploading soon, decided to go with just sitting down and making an all nighter XD.

3) Navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\" and delete the folder called "Sonnori".
White Day and all extra content will now be completely removed from your computer :)
The "Sonnori" folder in the registry is not there...

By the way, i have no idea if your file is only localized version of the original files, the differences of modes in the original game are :
Normal mode is just normal.
Hard mode has no save and time limit.
Real mode has no save, time limit, slower running speed , better AI for gaurds (known to chase you by HEARING when you open the door), and mist effect (worse vision).
It seemed that no one tells about it.
I hope this is right.

Firs pic is included just to show that the W-with-a strikethrough/replacement backslash is there throughout but doesn't seem to cause problems, as some files ARE installing.
Happens in the same place every time. I've tried different installation folders/hard drives, running as administrator, compatibility modes and resetting system language and locale to Korean but to no avail.
I'm running Win7 Home Premium 64-bit, and logged into an Administrator account, if that makes a difference.
Any help'd be much appreciated.
Reset.exe was a compiled executable from a batch file according to Unnamed.
DeleteIn which case, I think something must be blocking it from installing because it might appear suspicious - Do you have an anti virus installed?
I had my A/V running (Comodo Internet Security) the first time I tried but it did block the install (for a false positive), so I disabled it and have redownloaded the installer and rebooted several times since then.

- Open "whiteday.reg", and click 'Yes'.
- Move "WHITEDAY" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\"
- Start White Day with "WhiteDay - Start.exe"
I have a problem.
ReplyDeleteI'm using version 15.3 and I've installed White Day on two separate computers.
After the first install I could choose all difficulty levels when starting a new game.
However,after installing White Day on another computer, the hard and real difficulty levels are unavailable.
Try opening "C:\Program Files (x86)\WHITEDAY\mss65\whiteday.reg", and clicking 'Yes' (when prompted to) on the computer that doesn't have Hard and Real Difficulty modes.

ReplyDeleteThere is a Trojan Virus hidden inside the game files (PSW.banker6). Thank you very much... Now to remove this shit. =(
ReplyDeleteThere are no viruses in this download. Of course your anti-virus is going to find a false-positive because it's a Korean piece of software from 2001. Not your typical software.
DeleteIf you don't believe me, ask anyone on my forums, or in the comments right here. They've all downloaded it from this site, all 18000 of them. There's even tons of footage on YouTube with let's plays of this exact copy, hell, even Cry played this on his parts 13 and 14 - I supplied him with a save file and this version so he could continue and satisfy his fans. If you're still doubting me, what type of virus is half a gigabyte?
Remove it if you want, but you're not going to have much luck downloading this anywhere else.

ReplyDeleteI was tracking for this game for like 2 years ago and when i finally found this site... i was truly happy :P
After playing it for a while, i noticed some things missing like the cat cutscene and the glow stick and then looked for your version changelog
Why did u do it? I know its some minor things but, why did u removed such things, were they problematic?
Anyway great work here, no crashes, no bugs (except from the tiny red dots from the hallways that can be seen from doors)and almost fully translated

The cat cutscene, the floating cat in the bathroom and the glowstick were both added by fans - Or at least they weren't put in the game by the original developers.

Those items may have been part of original "too scary" plot.
DeleteDon't see why those items would be removed for the Blood Festival version (original "too scary" plot). But they must have been somewhere so I don't see why not :]

DeleteOne more thing thow, its the Real and Hard more scarier, like, they have more randomn scares and more ghosts to appear than the Normal difficulty? And what are the differences between the Hard and Real, because the Real difficulty is CRAZY hard XD

ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that's something that is out of my grasp. Only Sonnori themselves can access the dll files, I can't go really deep into White Day so you'll have to put up with it :/ I'm very sorry about that.
DeleteYour Change log is a virus website, you may want to look into that.
ReplyDeletePasteHTML? A virus distributing website? People on that website may make websites in HTML that distribute viruses (which are very quickly removed by the PasteHTML devs) but your anti-virus treating every website or page ever put on there as a virus isn't right. And especially for the changelog.
DeleteMy changelog is literally just text, that's it, hosted on a website that lets you anonymously post pages of text or HTML.
You may want to look into your anti-virus :/
My friend downloaded this game and towards the end, where a shadow is moving after you access a new area that leads to stair cases and closer to the roof, the shadow moves around and it knocks her out of the school and she can't do anything. It's always the same room.
ReplyDeleteThis is due to a bug that dates back to the original Korean version of White Day.This only happens if the ghost catches you in one of the numbered classrooms.
DeleteThe only way to avoid this bug is to avoid those classrooms as much as possible (check the map).
You still need to access some classrooms for one puzzle,but once you complete the level and are ready to leave this level,the classrooms can be safely explored.
here's a tip: (assuming this is for the light switch thing) the ghost only appears if you walk a few steps into the room. if you just poke your head in you can flip the switch without triggering anything, just look for the green light! apologies if this is seen as a spoiler, but considering the glitch and the frustration I experienced, it's a good trade!

I cannot play the game. I downloaded the game, and installed the program asked of me with the Japanese language/Korean locale, and the shortcut appeared on my desktop. But, when I click to play,it won't, and I get the error message, "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142).Click OK to close the application"

Just wanted to pop by and say thanks for your hard work on this new translation! I tried to play White Day some time ago with one of the old English patches that, while a valiant effort by the creator, was very frustrating to read and detracted from the experience of the game. Though I'm not very far in yet, the quality of your work here is readily apparent. As far as I'm concerned, this patch stands along side Fatal Frame 4 as must-play horror games that were rescued by the fan community. Excellent job!
